Overall, the Brown (Jones & Stokes) write-up of the City of Stockton 2001 monitoring of the DWSC and upstream SJR is well written, and presents a credible discussion of the data. I am pleased to see that this year's report included the discussion of organic nitrogen issues, which was not included in previous years. There are a couple of editorial issues that need to be addressed.

Page 2, item 6, last line, the Basin Plan DO objective is stated as 5 mg/L. The month needs to be given when the low DO occurred. I believe it was August, but this needs to be clarified.

Table 1, "pH" should have a lowercase "p." This problem occurs at several locations.

On page 30, there is a reference to a summary report. The author of that report needs to be indicated in the reference.
