Meeting objectives
1. Update from Barbara Marcotte on what is known about the timing
and organization of the next Ecosystem Restoration Program (ERP)
Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP). This will provide background
for how to structure the output from the hypothesis database and
screening process discussed in the next two agenda items.
2. Kevin Wolf has prepared a database of hypotheses about
contributing factors and potential non-aeration solutions to the
dissolved oxygen impairment in the DWSC that have been put forward by
the Synthesis Report and other DO TMDL related documents. An
overview of how the hypotheses were compiled and organized will be
provided. This will not involve, however, a detailed discussion of
individual hypotheses. Suggestions on modifications, additions or
deletions to individual hypotheses should be forwarded directly to
Kevin Wolf before or after the meeting. Finalization of the
hypotheses included in the database will happen at a later date. The
current version of the database is at:
http://www.watershedportals.org/san_joaquin/hyp/
3. Evaluation criteria and a screening process are needed to
evaluate which hypotheses from the database (discussed above) should
be included as a topic for which further studies will be solicited in
the next Bay-Delta Authority PSP. Draft screening criteria and an
outline for the screening process (distributed via e-mail later this
week) will be discussed. The purpose of the discussion will be to
gain as much consensus on the criteria and process as possible and
discuss how to structure the output of the analysis in a form most
useful for the PSP.
4. Hydroqual and Stanford will give presentations on their models
and the scopes of their recent contracts with the Bay-Delta
Authority. This will be followed by group discussion about how their
modeling efforts might be structured to address the types of data
gaps that will be identified by the hypothesis evaluation and
screening process described above.
5. Update on the expected upstream studies contracting timeline from
Barbara. Marcotte. Other upstream studies related topics to be
addressed at this time as well.
6. Set future TWG meeting topics, dates, and locations.
