Meeting Objectives
  1. Clarify and prioritize the hypotheses and work plans to be pursued in 2000 as part of the CalFed grant.
  2. Determine the Principal Investigators for the different work plans.
  3. Develop criteria for determining which research projects should be pursued in 2000.
  4. Advance the conceptual model for organizing the research in 2000 and in future years.
  5. Determine how 2001 grant prioritization will occur.
  6. Confirm next meetings.

9:20 am    Orientation and discussion of agenda
9:30 am    Determine criteria to for prioritizing proposals
10:00 am    Presentation/discussion of each proposal (10 min each)

12:45 pm    Complete project prioritization and make assignments

Draft Criteria for Evaluation of Proposals for 2000
  1. How will the proposal benefit our ability to establish TMDL? (Does it provide information to Rich Stowell’s D.O. Depletion Assessment Form?)
  2. How will the proposal improve our ability to conduct more effective research in 2001 and 2002? How valuable will the data and analysis be for prioritizing 2001 and 2002 research?
  3. How will the research or monitoring help resolve the low D.O. problem and help prioritize implementation options?
  4. How expensive is the proposal. Are there parts of the project that might be funded from other sources?
  5. How likely will the proposed methodology succeed in providing the information desired.
